I know who I am; I know where I’ve been I know where I’m from, and everything that I’ve ever done I know that the soles of my shoes seen lots of struggle, Seen lots of trouble outside this room And when you look at me, I can’t help but think you, Already figured me out Well, you walk with your face to the ground Staring at nothing, wishing that something, would block your gaze Such a beautiful face, hides all your secrets, hides words you wish you could say And when you look at me, I can’t help but think you, Already figured me out Hmm my palms are sweaty, I’m not ready, I’m not ready I take it back, take it all back, give me the thoughts, you should have never known I had, I regret ever word that I said, oh oh oh You burn like fire and sting like a bee And there was never hope for you or for me But, we walk, this road, with our hearts on the fold We walk, this road, with our hearts on the fold

Oh you’re just face in the dark But I’m not scared cause your killing me with Light I see you there, in the middle of the night Whispering sweet words of love Oh you’re just a beam on my chest Burning hot, but it felt so right, I couldn’t stop In the middle of the night, you came and swept me off my feet. Don’t you Ever leave me I saw you in a land that was promised, long ago but I couldn’t get in Now I know, that you’ve loosened my chains, and opened up the gates You taught me that when tears fall down It’s just a start for some brand new eyes To open up, and to see this life is just a gust of wind, so take it all in Don’t you Ever leave me I’m smiling in my sleep, I’m laughing in my dreams I’m loving this feeling my heart pounding Don’t you Ever leave me

Let the Leaves fall on me oh; let the leaves fall on you Let the weather wrap around our cheeks, let the lightning light up all we see You could take my hand; you could take my heart too But oh my love, I’d be lying to you We could have this dance, but we would be out of step And oh my Love, There’d be nothing left Let the Leaves fall on me oh; let the leaves fall on you Let the weather wrap around our cheeks, let the lightning light up all we see You could take my hand; you could take my heart too But oh my love, I’d be lying to you We could have this dance, but we would be out of step And oh my Love, There’d be nothing left I’d love to play pretend with you I’d love to take a night or two, and watch you sleep beneath the stars But I’m not your rescuer, I’m not even yours; so don’t pretend to know me like you do You could take my hand; you could take my heart too But oh my love, I’d be lying to you We could have this dance, but we would be out of step And oh my Love, There’d be nothing left For you

Have you got a soul, Mister yours is cold Laughing at the old folk, telling all your cruel jokes Have you got a heart, mister yours is dark Scaring all the children, cheating on your women This city kills, and you’re a Victim This city kills, and you’re a Victim When you were a kid, was it like this Or did you share in laughter, happy ever after Cause I see you alone, locked in your home Staring out your window, waiting for tomorrow This city kills, and you’re a victim This city kills, and you’re a Victim Hopeless man, I wish to bring you a happy song But my words are solemn, and my hearts been breaking for ya all day long Mister man, I wish to bring you a happy song But my chords are minor and my hearts been breaking for ya all day long Maybe it’s the streetlights, maybe it’s those long nights You didn’t have a chance, when you locked the door and left This city kills, and you’re a victim This city kills, and you’re a Victim Have you got a soul, Mister yours is cold Laughing at the old folk, telling all your cruel jokes Have you got a Heart, mister yours is dark Scaring all the children, cheating on your women This city kills, and you’re a victim This city kills, and you’re a Victim

Oh You came like a serpent, Slithered into my dreams I didn't want you, but you want me Like a lion waits for its pray, you waited for me You waited for me, to bleed Brittle bones look for something to hold Sleepy souls make their beds, their home Lord I'm slipping; I am falling like the first It is tempting but I know this fruit is cursed And there's war as the dawn breaks, both seeking for my soul There are no truces, one will take it all Pure and Holy like a sweet Lamb, and one with horns One with horns, like a ram How could I say, I did not know As sure as the Son came, I was told Lord I'm slipping; I am falling like the first It is tempting but I know this fruit is cursed Be Gone I choose freedom, I choose Freedom The curtain is torn, and the first had been raised The wrinkles are rung out, and there is sweet grace You came like a serpent, slithered into my head You'll never get me, no sir you are dead

about

This City Kills is my debut EP. I'd love to explain each song to you someday. But until then I hope you enjoy the music, and that these songs awaken you to smile, laugh, cry, and maybe, just maybe even dance. :)
